TomTom repair/service centres
Not quite an FAQ but could be useful.
Usual disclaimer.....I don't know much about most of these so no recommendation intended.

I've once ordered at TomTom Repairs an SD slot for my good old GO910
But they sent me the money straight back, the reason was that they don't send parcels abroad.
Solved via the address of a good friend in the United Kingdom.

My experience of a TomTom Repair
I want it make known that i look after a group of sat nav's for the drivers at my place of work.
Thought i would share my experience when i sent off a GO 520 for repair.
This TomTom Go 520 was initially suffering from a faulty USB connection (It also had a battery that wouldn't hold charge)so sat in a draw gathering dust.I then used it's speaker to replace a broken one in a TomTom Go 530(That's another story).
After perusing the list in the" TomTom Tutorials & FAQ,section I picked " TomTom Repairs" in Birmingham. No idea how good or bad they would be, I first got in touch January asking for a quote for " It has a bad USB connection e.g.it will not stay connected/charge. And it needs a replacement speaker." Price quoted £35. I then did nothing until April when i re-enquired about the price plus also a " replacement battery in the repair as well", Price quoted £50.
Followed the instructions to send it to them. They received it April 13th,i then emailed them on 27th April enquiring about a progress update as they quote a " Repairs are normally carried out within 3 – 5 working days". NO reply. I then left it till 12th May to ring them(i had previously been thinking that it was gone ,I had been hoodwinked, but a broken sat nav who wants that)it was answered, with the reply it was fixed and would get the invoice out to you (via email)later that same day. No, phoned again 14th they'd replied "can i get him to ring you back",OK, no ring back. Phoned 15th invoice arrived 18th, £35 and no description of repairs carried out,Paid same day.It goes to the account of " @b23repairs.co.uk".When i received it back it made no sounds at all and the battery wasn't holding charge, after running TomTom clear flash 3 times and still no sound emitting i decided to take it apart, hey presto NO speaker and the same battery.Emailed them 27th enquiring about the price of the repair(see above)they had done only 1 repair but had quoted that price for 2 repairs,NO reply. So my feedback from this experience of using this firm is, Communication ZERO, Repairs 4 out of 10.In my opinion, if you can take it in yourself and wait for it sameday or find another repairer and let everybody know how good or bad they are.
