Gibraltar Speed Cameras now Live!
Gibraltars first fixed speed cameras are now LIVE and ten people were caught on the first day that the devices went live.
There was a short grace period of two week to allow locals to get used to the cameras. In that period 348 drivers were spotted speeding and issued a warning, but no fine.
Three cameras are in situ under a pilot scheme and, according to the Gibraltar Government, the fastest recorded speed was 68KMH (42.25MPH).
Violations are transmitted live to the offices of Gibraltar Car Parks Limited.
credit pgpsw and originally for this info.
So all we need to do is wait for TT/Garmin etc to get their collective a4ses in gear and add these to their data bases! If it's anything like new roads, expect to wait at least a few monthsbiggerdave Reviewed by biggerdave on . Gibraltar Speed Cameras now Live! A few months? More like a few years. Some even now have not been corrected, yet they have been told countless times, even Garmin/Nocia knew way back then. Ever google have been told, but they use TT maps I believe
One day, someone might make things work perfectly before release. Sadly not in my or your lifetime. At least by finding problems and sorting them, we are still alive.
