There was a short grace period of two week to allow locals to get used to the cameras. In that period 348 drivers were spotted speeding and issued a warning, but no fine.

Three cameras are in situ under a pilot scheme and, according to the Gibraltar Government, the fastest recorded speed was 68KMH (42.25MPH).

Violations are transmitted live to the offices of Gibraltar Car Parks Limited.

So all we need to do is wait for TT/Garmin etc to get their collective a4ses in gear and add these to their data bases! If it's anything like new roads, expect to wait at least a few months
