"a Go x20/x30/7000 (without hardware defect) has no satellite detection problem."
A few x20 or x30 customers complained because they could not receive satellites for hours. I have replaced the "glgps" file and updated QuickGPSfix with "QuickGPSfix_SiRFStarIII.exe". Now everything is alright with them. But it was only on the last weekend, d. H. barely 5 days ago. I'm curious what it looks like after a week. I keep you informed...
"He can do that with cbee.cbee in the ephem folder much better than you with any program"
For sure, but only with a valid subscription :-). It was not cheap (49.95 € / year) and TomTom does not offer live services anymore for these models anyway.Last edited by Charlie62; 2nd May 2019 at 10:34 PM.

For all Broadcom BCM4750 chipsets is cbee.cbee the QuickGPSfix automatic mode. The Qualcomm AR1520 chipset also supports the QuickGPSfix automatic mode (agps-latest.agps). For devices x20/x30 (SiRFstar) unfortunately no automatic mode exists.

I think it's impossible without a subscription, because it is absolutely necessary to access the internet to update QuickGPSfix! None of my GO x40/x50 has ever updated the "lto.dat" file alone, even with the "cbee.cbee" file in the "ephem" folder.Last edited by Charlie62; 3rd May 2019 at 02:11 AM.

The 9.702 provides a feature "worksmart" which in general uses the same connection like these old devices I was talking about. Beside this it supports the BT-phone features like making phone-calls or accept them.
So I agree with you. If this tool had worked in earlier times, it should do now on this NC.
What we need is a phone with BT and internet-connection.
This MUST be a mobile network, no WLAN.
On the phone there must be a feature enabled "hotspot over bluetooth".
Activate pairing on the phone.
Try to connect through the bluetooth settings on the TT.
First it will pair and check the phonestaff.
At the end or by using the "worksmart" icon it will check the ability of dataconnection.
I cant check it here, because my phone does not provide internetaccess through mobile.
We dont need a supscription to download ephem over internet.
BUT, if really everything works, I dont beleave this will solve your major problem.
From my point of view there is no problem with satellites on NC 9.702.
Ephem only helps, if you dont use your TT for some time and then start it the first time.
Without ephem it would need some minutes longer to get position.
In this case it would help to set your home-position to the actual position.
This is the position you see on the screen without GPS-fix and my feeling ist that this is the startposition for searching satellites.Last edited by BMWdriver; 3rd May 2019 at 12:51 AM.
