GO720 update fiasco
Whilst updating a 720 to UK Map 995.8507 encountered major on board storage corruption through a faulty USB cable.
Having formatted the storage (FAT32) can reload all software (copied from a working 720) updating ttgo.bif DCT's etc but when booting it cannot read the data and shows a red cross.
When trying to access the device through Windows 10 it will no show Device Properties or Tools menu.
Strangely if you insert a copy of the latest truck software in the SD slot it will start up and allow you to use the UK map on the onboard storage even although the "Truck SD" is for another device.
Any suggesting or clues about how to fix this would be most welcome.

Bootloader (ttsystem) file missing/corrupt maybe? Try copying the one from the SD card to the root
Sorry, too many Buds; "system" is bootloader file, not "ttsystem"

Does the drive show up under Disk Management in Win10....if it does it could be a corrupt partition?
You have nothing to lose at this point so you may as well delete & re-create the partition > format to FAT32 > reload the navcore etc
Don't copy the navcore from another device, download the official NC 9.510 from
If all else fails and the internal drive is corrupt you can still use the SD card...same thing > install official navcore > map > etc etc

Thanks to biggerdave and fredderf for your feedback.
I have already cleared the "system" file using 0.0001 and reloading 5.5120 to no effect. I think that the partion is most likely corrupted possibly the MBR is damaged and hence the device cannot load from the "disk". I am currently trying a Windows 7 system and it allows access the "properties" but will not allow me to delete the partion.
It is a long time since I have done any work on disks where I am trying to recover/replace the MBR but I do recall some disk recovery programs which did this however I will need to search for them.
If anyone knows of a suitable piece of software (or a technique) any info would be appreciated.
Thanks again for your help

@dillon2982
If you fail with low level format - never mind, as your internal memory only 2GB.
Just use any SD (mSD+adaptor) up to 32GB - plenty of space to put any (or several) navcore + as many maps as you like.
PS
Nothing strange there, as 720 supports TRUCK navcore as it's own. Moreover, if map on this SD was activated to SD card ID - you would have possibility to use this map without any additional movements - it would work on your (and any other NAV2 device, which supports TRUCK navcore) 720, as it were bought by you ;-)

Your LLF file appears to be corrupt, it reports is either an unknown format or damaged.
Have managed to get at the partition in Windows command mode using the DISKPART program, but it will not allow the partion to be selected or deleted, partition table must be corrupted.

Argus Dave? - get real surely - eBay. Nothing stopping you as Igor says. My mate has an other GO720, but uses the latest maps etc from the SDCard, as I do. Yust make sure you have ttdo.bif on it. (You have already if you can see Truck from it). Not a bad idea to run FastActive too from root of the SDCard as well.
The obvious solution you will have done is format the GO720 and then copied the files back via the backup you have saved on your PC at first. Anyway there is nothing wrong in having all of the files on the SDCard. As long as there is ttgo.bif on it, your unit reads from the SDCard first anyway. Problem sortedOne day, someone might make things work perfectly before release. Sadly not in my or your lifetime. At least by finding problems and sorting them, we are still alive.
