I have tried for a few weeks to update the maps on this TOMTOM, mainly using "Universal Navcore Installer" and maps "United Kingdom and ROI 945" with no success.

I keep getting the .dct error (with fastactivate )

Any helps would be greatly appreciated, if possible I would like to get a Europe map on the TOMTOM as we are off to Malta and hiring a car in a few weeks

Check the NC-version (8.xxx or higher than 9.0xx) and the memory size of your TomTom (1 or 2 GB), then select a matching map for your device (a complete Europe is to big!). If you have a 2 GB-device, the Europe_East 945_6174 has Malta and works with a NC 9.0xx (and higher).
