Please I need help with tomtom go740 live

It's still a discussionforum. If you don't understand the instructions you must get help from other members who has more experience with these things. If you don't want endless discussions why don't locked all topics except the tutorials?

I understand BD, but life isn't just reading an textbook or tutorial and don't asking stupid questions..
I was asking the same questions 10 years ago and I was happy that there was a lot of help on another forum.
Now i'm having my own forum and answering the same questions over and over again..

Yes, I also have my website. (and I think many of us also have their own sites)
And there I have all my instructions. And when I ask I send the user to the instruction.
While people do not read the instructions-he just can't properly ask a question.
And he will not be able to understand what he wants to achieve. And how can you answer if you can't understand what you ask?
After the user has read the instructions and tried this statement is executed then and there are competent and clear questions that we can immediately understand and respond to them.

Ok, so when you are buying a car and you will ask the salesman something about the car what you want to know and it's something simple to ask.
The salesman say '' don't ask me that and read the manual about the car''..I think you wouldn't be pleased about it.
But allright, I see that everyone has a different opinion about these matter..It's OK by me.

As a bunch of staff-members you should be an example for the rest of the users , and not spoil a thread with useless BLABLABLA

In this case TS did read the manual and he stil has problems. (post #12)
And for a lot of people his instructions are clear and bright. But for a first time updater things could be a little bit more complicated. So it's easy to miss a little thing. Like TS did here.
I did the first time.

And then he asked a simple question. "No maps found" on a original GO740 navcore. And he gets 3 different answers from 3 guys with enough experience updating a GO740.
So even for experienced people it's not always easy to see what TS did wrong while following instructions. In this case asking for a screenshot did the trick.

So never assume that a for you easy readable manual is also easy for somebody else to read. Don't forget this forum attracks people from all over the world and not everybody's native language is English.
And even when they are English it can be difficult for them to understand.

So a manual is a good start but there will always be questions. And that's why this is a forum and not a library.
