Re: Red cross of death!!
Not sure if this helps but my XL 30 series (2GB) is running fine with navcore SE9.430 and boot loader 5.5244.
Not sure why you have BL 10012 (this is normally shown under the TTHome system and is not the real boot loader in the system).
To start I would try a smaller map (you are using almost all the memory of the 1GB unit and re-check the boot loader which I think should be 5.5xxx or higher for these devices.
Best of luck Biggerdave.

Re: Red cross of death!!
If indeed BootLoaderVersion=10012, actually it can work only with nc proposed by TTHome.
If it's just mistake - surely you must upgrade BL to 5.5xxx.
On the other hand, if BL is really 1xx (and must be for particular devise) - trying to upgrade BL with standard bootloaders won't do any harm to device. Once I was tying to upgrade/downgrade such a BL - nothing happened, whilst device showed up BL progress bar, finally no action was taken and BL left the same. So - you may try without fear to finally brick device.

Re: Red cross of death!!
Thanks guys, managed to salvage it. All I did was just change bootloader to 5.5244 and fired up straightaway....simples!
Strange that TTHome won't update my 8.010 as I thought these ran a later version than that but I'm happy & my customer is too.
thanks again
