This fast method of installing Garmin Mobile XT on Windows Mobile Smartphone / Pocket PC is for when you wish to install the application on another device, or very quick reinstall after hard reset (if no backup available). Its a quick and painless method to get it working again, either on a new device or after a hard reset. It will save memory on your Windows Mobile device as well, as the device will be run from the memory card.

First, copy the Garmin folder located on the memory card of the original device that was created after the desktop installation (or, after hard reset, simply use existing folder created from the original installation). i.e. copy this entire folder for the memory card used on your next device.

SD/Garmin

Then, simply double click on the following file:

SD Card/Garmin/Apps/WM/QuePPC.exe (or QueSP for non-touchscreen)

This will run the application. Obtain the Device (or SD Card) Code you will need for the Jetmouse 1.5 KeyGen, and create the SW.UNL file in the same way you did before.

Paste the SW.UNL file in the Garmin folder on your memory card.

Copy the GMAPSUPP map image you wish to use on your memory card, and paste this into the SD Card/Garmin folder, as usual.

If all goes well, a Garmin folder will be created on the root directory of the Windows Mobile device, which should be very small (35kb)...varies, but should be tiny.

Create a shortcut for the SD Card/Garmin/Apps/WM/QuePPC.exe file, using Total Commander or Resco File Explorer, and paste this in the Windows/Start Menu/Programs folder on your device (rename it Garmin, if you like).

This method will enable you to reinstall Garmin Mobile XT on another (or several devices (!)), without the need to Sync with the Desktop PC..it just saves you a bit of time, and frees up memory on your Windows Mobile device.
