    Sad Firmware downgrade 2110 to 16.10

    As a result (maybe it will be useful for my colleagues, how are using Ctrl+F): I did a firmware downgrade to 16.10 for my ECHOMAP UHD 7x.


    For ECHOMAP 7x, 9x, UHD, ECHOMAP Plus 4x, Plus 6x, 7x, 9x series
    To perform a forced update:
    1. Turn the device Off
    2. Hold the Power button and number 4 button
    3. Release the Power button when the Garmin logo appears
    4. Release the number 4 button when Recovery Loader Ready appears
    5. Insert the software update card
    6. The device will now install the software update.
    To be precise, I used the already patched echoMAPwithSDCard_2021.03.26_(13.30_16.10) firmware (because, I did not find more than fresh and functional...).

    Alas, the fonts that this firmware uses are miserable. I assume that the color palettes available in the version «echoMAP with SD Card software version 2023.0406.0», are also now unavailable to me.
    The question of how to degrease the current original firmware — remains is open; How to use the patching manual (from *.pdf file) is also also not clear, did not understand...

    As a result, Topo maps of the country, maps of water resources country, maps created by me in Mapsource, as well as maps downloaded from «Сommunity Garmin Quickdraw™» are now available without any restrictions.

    HI everybody.
    I successfully applied 5.30 patched version for edge explore found elsewhere (italian forum) but as latest firmware is 5.40, I tried to apply the patch on it when it propose to me to update. But it does not work with 2.20 version of patcher . It is quite old (2019) but I didn' found newer version of it
    I got that :

    Processing file C:\Users\Michèle\Downloads\GUPDATE.GCD

    Firmware version as specified in GCD file: 5.40 for Edge Explore.
    Firmware name: Software Version 5.40 for Edge Explore.

    Applying rule set MSV... No matches.

    Any ideas to make it to work, or may be easier, a simple way to ignore last firmware update once for all?
    I can provide 5.40 firmware if needed

    I tried to used sd card universal firmware patch above, but nothing happen, I turn off completely, put sd card with Garmin folder in, power on, nothing happen, after that I took the card to computer and check, it was written 2 another folders JOURNAL AND DCIM folder. Please help

    GPSMAP 66sr Firmware Update 6.10 released 07JUL23:

    Changes made from version 5.70 to 6.10:
    Added option to turn on/off course alerts (Setup > Routing).
    Improved GPS performance in some situations.
    Fixed an issue where users were unable to cancel a prompted master reset.
    Fixed a possible shutdown when exiting expedition mode.
    This update is being released in stages via Garmin Express, and should be available to everyone soon.

    Patched update no problem.
