Maps often come as img-files, what's the best pratice to convert these to gmap-folders that will install in basecamp? Prefferably, I'm after a way to do this on a mac, but I'm open for suggestions on a way to do it on windows or linux as well.

Also, I've read somewhere, probably in a comment somewhere, that converting from IMG to gmap could result in losing the search function. Could someone please explain under what circumstances this happends, and how to avoid it?
