5. patching the map:
You download the "tt8_kaygen2.exe" program from the Internet.
You create a new directory on disk. Preferably on the C: drive. Preferably a directory with a short name, e.g. "x".
to this directory you copy the directory with the selected map, the file with the metacode for this map (published by Peter) and the tt8 program.
You open a DOS window (cmd). In this window you enter the directory you created (as it was done 30 years ag cd.. cd.. cd.. cd x ). Once you have entered the correct directory, drag the mouse from the directory you created to the DOS window in the following order:
- tt8 program
-put a space
-directory with the downloaded map
-put a space
- enter the number you provided in the second line of your post
- click enter
If you did everything correctly, you will receive an OK response. And you can copy the map directory to the navigation root. If it didn't work out OK, you made a mistake somewhere or you don't have meta...
You can do all this more easily with newer tools...
I described the more difficult method because you didn't want to use "search"
conclusions after a while after publication (like Microsoft)
Only nav2 and nav3 maps are available for your device. Nav4 maps will not work. If you download nav3, you can remove unnecessary files from it (cspeech, arp, cphoneme), which will significantly reduce the size of the map... but you won't be able to fit all of Europe.Last edited by rarokor; 3rd May 2024 at 04:08 PM.
