Shrink NAV3 maps to fit NAV2 devices
** PLEASE NOTE that only if the (usually larger) NAV3 map doesn't fit your NAV2 memory you will need to remove redundant files (those not needed for a NAV2 device) to make a bit more space by following these instructions; BUT if there's plenty of free space in your memory then you don't need to do this and it will run on your NAV2 device as usual.
I made a little manual for you, how to shrink Nav3 maps to fit Nav2 devices.
It is done in three simple steps.
Step 1. Select and download the new map.
Find the correct Nav3 map and download it with “TTActivator.exe”
It will only work if;
- your device has a 9.xxx navcore that is patched. This can also be done with “TTActivator.exe”
- the map fits on your Nav2 device (after optimisation Step 2)
- the map must have a meta-code.
In the attached “Nav3-Nav2_conversion.rar” file you will find the file "meta.txt" with all meta-codes till sept. 5 2024 and
the file "meta_All_Maps.txt" with the latest meta-code for every existing map also till sept. 5 2024 and
different files "Meta_xxxx_Nav23.txt" with the meta-codes for nav2 and nav3 for map-version 1115 till 1135.
You can also search for a correct map in
Step 2. Optimize the new map for Nav2
Optimise the map with the tool “Optimize_nav3.exe”.
You can find it in the attached “Nav3-Nav2_conversion.rar” file.
Put the tool and the map in an empty folder and start the tool.
Follow the instructions on your screen. If the tool is ready, the map is optimized.
Step3. Install on device and activate
Copy the optimised map to your Nav2 device and activate it with “TTActivator.exe”.
If necessary, update before activation the meta-codes with the toolbox of TTActivator or put the "meta.txt" file from the attached “Nav3-Nav2_conversion.rar” file in the same folder as TTActivator.exe.
You find the latest version of TTActivator.exe in .
After this the new map must work on you device.
I tried this on my Go 950, GO XXL and GO One XL, all with navcore 9.451, and on my very old GO 300 with navcore 9.510.
All four with success.
If you still have questions, please let me know.
