Step 1. Select and download the new map. Find the correct Nav3 map and download it with “TTActivator.exe” It will only work if; - your device has a 9.xxx navcore that is patched. This can also be done with “TTActivator.exe” - the map fits on your Nav2 device (after optimalisation Step 2) - the map must have a meta-code. In the attached “Nav3-Nav2_conversion.rar” file you will Rating: 5

Hi Peter, in general terms (rather than code-level detail) what does the Optimize_nav3.exe do. I have briefly tried Nav 3 maps on my Go 720 and they seem to work ok. What does the tool add or prevent?
Thanks

It is mainly to reduce the size of a map, by taking away files that are not necessary for nav2 devices, if there is not enough memory on the nav2 device where you want to put it up.
If there is enough room reducing is not necessary.

Thanks Peter for the info.
I stick to devices with SD cards so space is not so much of an issue but obviously critical with limited internal memory.

I'm french and I need France, but I can use Europe, Western Europe, Europe_Zone_South or Europe_Zone_West. I already have the last maps with available meta (1110_11862).

Brilliant tool for using Nav3 maps on older Nav2 devices.
Tip: If a map is too big for your device, delete the poi.dat and crpoi.dat. If you want to you can replace it with smaller files from your own country. Or a country you are going to visit.
