I never managed to have this trick working...
But there is a third way to fool TTH I have found and has been refined and tested with my friends at GBCNET.NET!!!
Each time TTH installs a real navcore it will create a file called Application.tlv inside the folder called program, if the device (like my GO750) has both an SD and the internal memory the folder is located where the navcore is installed.
This binary file contains info about the nc version and the files that TTH has installed. If this file is present, TTH compares this version against the official nc for the device and then decides to update it if it's different!
The long way to generate this Application.tlv file is to let the latest TTH installs the official navcore for your device, then using a Hex editor (I use HxD, very simple and available in portable version too ) you have to replace the version with 9.999 and save!!!
Here you are where to find the version to modify, this is my original file for my GO750

The short way is to download the attached archive which contains an Application.tlv already patched to v9.999Puffo Reviewed by Puffo on . TTHome trying to force a navcore update? For those who use TTHome and SE navcores you will probably find that TTHome keeps trying to force you to take the latest official navcore for your device. There are 2 ways of avoiding this. (see post 5 for alternative #3 too) 1. Fool the TT server into believing you already have the current TTHome installed To do this this you need to instal an older TTHome version that does not force navcore updates and trick it into thinking it's already the current version. I would also add that Notepad + + works fine for modify the Application.tlv file.
If you replace manually, you only need to change the original version number, nothing else.
The n.c. version number that you need to change can be found in the first line of the opened file , after the word navigator.
