What little I know about computing is that all/any of the activators we use (and have been doing so for YEARS) do sometimes get flagged as containing a virus but that is ALWAYS A FALSE POSITIVE and can safely be ignored; plus, none of them touch your Boot Record anyway so sadly you have a totally different problem.

Fastactivate Vipre Antivirus warning On my computer I have installed Vipre Internet Security, when I start Fastactivate, there's a warning message saying "a known bad file was blocked from opening", the file name is tt8_mapcheck2.exe.
