Thanks for that .. interestingly, the "normal" SE9.541 will not run ... just hangs at the start screen and needs paperclipping to reset, but Simba's version runs well, especially after a bit of tweaking to remove the Spanish bits !!
With the "new" @tomtom.com folder in position TTHome also works as it should ... so far
So it all seems to work .. we just need to see what happens when the GPS clocks all change
Many thanks for all the help, appreciate it

Different devices respond differently to that Navcore, even 2 more or less the same GO 910 from myself and 1 from an acquaintance in England don't respond the same, the only difference between the two devices was that mine is no longer original because I replaced the HDD by an SD slot.
And I am more or less certain that our navigation will just work, possibly that the date will no longer be correct, but it does not matter to me, as long as I arrive at the place of destination, whether this century is whether the next century will be a concern to me.
As long as I can refuel on the way, no problem.

Looking at the two different versions .. the "normal" one has a bootloaderversion.txt which implies it needs a bootloader version 5.5282.
Simbas version makes no mention of bootloader at all
Having never touched the bootloader on this GO700 I can only assume from this thread that mine is still 5.4210, which might be why it crashes ??
Matters not, I have a version that works !!

You can always test a higher version, if that is a bit disappointing then you can, contrary to what is sometimes claimed, simply go back to where you started.
You have to pay attention not to run out of power, but with two steps you are back to where you started.
You need only Bootloader 0.0001 to reset the Bootloader that you don't like.
Copy 0.0001 to the root reset and start
Then copy the desired one to the root, reset and start and you have the Bootloader of your choice.

Thanks for that ... but with working versions of SE9.051 and Simba's 9.541 both running Europe_West 1025_9836, I, hopefully, will have some sort of solution on the "fateful" day ... Don't think I need to mess about with bootloaders just yet, especially as other threads say 5.5282 might not exist ... however, if the clocks all stop .....

Hello guys
I have a GO 920 (oldnavcore 9.510) and a little bit confused now. Internal SD size is 3.7 GB and I have problem to squeeze Europe Map, too big.
Is there a way to use the external 4 GB SD ?
What is the best option ? Upgrade my navcore ? and which versions of Europe maps can I use today please ?

If you have an SD slot and the Bootloader is equal or above 5.5022 you're already able to use SDHC cards up till 32GB

thank you pe1apg
My bootloader is BootLoaderVersion=55242
Do I have just to put a map folder like "Europe" on the external SD/SDHC (SD slot) root folder ?
It seems that my device cannot see maps when I do that

Before you change anything, make a full backup of what you have now
Clean the internal memory and use only a SDHC cards up till 32GB for the best result try to use class 10
