My latest experiences with my Rider v2 which has the Sirf Star 3 in combination with the latest SE Navcore 9.500 is that it is best to always
have a paper clip at hand or to activate QuickGSPfix shortly before departure.
If I don't do that, I sometimes don't have a single satellite to navigate on for hours.
For that reason I have made the tiny hole larger to 3mm, now also the ballpoint pen fits in it to perform the reset.

Now you make me doubt, I now have the very first 9,500 of your or the latest 9,500 version?
Only a further test will be able to show that.
I start right away but will not drive tonight, there may be more certainty tomorrow, or first compare the files tonight

    I know that.
For sure I''ve put a full copy of your 9.500c to my good old Rider v2 I own since october 2009
At present inside my room near to the windows with the aluminum blinds down, I receive 6 satellites and is still counting
Tomorrow the Rider v2 will be on my BMW R 1100 RT and than I'll know more.

Normally the hole is no larger than roughly 1 mm just enough for a small paper clip or needle
A Parker ballpoint pen is 2.4 mm thick and long enough to briefly press the reset button.
Do not use an electric hand drill, if you do, because a drill of 3 mm is difficult to hold, then turn the head yourself

New Navcores v9.541 & 9.501 released for many NAV2 devices
The test with 9,500c today gave the following result.
Late yesterday in the evening I switched off the Rider v2.
Turned on this afternoon via the on / off
No satellite was found, at least not a view of the screen.
What did work was that my position was displayed correctly.
I could plan a route and have a demo run.
The Rider v2 is switched off again and on again after a few minutes.
No satellite to be seen, nor the position was displayed.
Hard reset and satellites were found again, then switched off by hand again.

A hard reset was given before placing on my motorcycle.
The ignition is on and the Rider v2 normally starts up with a number of satellites, position is displayed correctly.
Switch off the ignition and the Rider v2 will close after 10 seconds.
Switch on the contact again and the Rider v2 starts as always, but unfortunately no satellite can be seen and the position was not displayed either.

My first impression now is, only a hard reset again shows satellites, but if the voltage goes off, a reset must first be given, whereas in the old situation a reset was needed once every few days.

    To be continued.

    P.S.

The ephem map restored to its former glory.SirfIII-QuickGPSFix.exe started but it gives an error message and a message that everything would be fine.
Error and still good that cannot go together, the normally available ee_meta files have disappeared.
QuickGPSfix.exe started and this tool restores the ephem folder.
SDHC card back in the Rider v2 and back to the motorcycle, switch on but the Rider v2 no longer starts automatically after a hard reset or the SDHC card has been temporarily removed.
Started manually and as many as 8 stellites are received immediately.
Switch off the ignition, the Rider v2 closes after 10 seconds.
After 1 minute the contact is switched on again and with a delay of only a few seconds all 8 satellites are back.

    Any suggestion?

To be sure of everything, I will create a completely new SDHC card.
Then I will repeat the above steps.
Does anyone else have any experience with SirfIII-QuickGPSFix.exe, because it looks like that tool doesn't work.
