Default Which NC for a Go 700

It is remarkable, rather the helpful information
exescuern Reviewed by exescuern on . Which NC for a Go 700 I have been given a Go700 to bring up to date. In the past when I have done these old units I have used NC 8.203 and the latest map which has everything on it Unfortunately the map I would like to use has not been uploaded, so I am looking at using a different NC to support what has been uploaded ie the only UK map or possibly a western or northern europe map with lane guidance etc. Any advice on which NC to use I would be grateful. Regards Rating: 5

    You ran clear flash ?

How long you wait after the drums ?
The "drums" mean it is reloading from core .

    You gave it a couple reset's ?

Keep in mind that using version 8 navcore means you stuck with outdated maps .

I am pretty surprised you can't find ANY 9.510 navcore to run on your 700, what about one of yuris slightly older (but still 9.***) navcores from post #2?

....or even a 9.702 truck one that can run any other map from here

Yes i got the drums, I got the tomtom logo and then all I got was a clear screen. Nothing else.

I tried one of yuriyggg' s

I don't like being beaten and will have another try.

I really don't know. Very close to giving up. Will try one of the truck NC just in case that does the trick.

Failing that, I will just try and get an older map and NC on.

I don't think I am doing anything wrong or missing any steps out.

I have proven that my very first backup works, phew

One thing that is puzzling me is that the unit, not connected to the computer or the mains is still showing the green power light. Ah. The reset button has just stopped that

    Check the drive for errors
    -Right-click on it > properties > tools

    -Format to fat32 ( slow )

    It should work .
If it was hardware , you could not load your v8 navcore either .

clear flash and reset after each navcore change , always .

Any 9.510 NC should work AFAIK

How are you installing each/all of these navcores? Overwriting (my preferred method) or clean install from empty memory?

    Clean install from empty memory.

I've done clearflash a few times.

I'm now using a different computer. Partly so I can watch tv but also something happened, can't remember what, that made me wonder whether it was my AV kicking in.

Is formatting likely to solve this. Bear in mind that it isn't my unit.

No , but checking for error can not hurt .
If no error , then remove anything from it , then put new navcore it .

Overwriting older navcore is risky !!!!

Antivirus is not likely to interfere with copy/paste navcores
    And watching TV neither
