After contacting support and reconnecting the device to the computer, the navigation system was detected correctly, and there was no more appearance and disappearance of "TOM TOM" in the device manager. Below is the content of the response from support:

Please leave the device connected to the computer with MyDrive Connect open to allow the update to either complete or fail. Completion or failure of the update may take up to 48-72 hours."

However, the situation is peculiar in that I didn't do anything additional, and after a few days, the connection between the navigation device and the computer started working correctly on its own.
