Running Win10. Navcore 22.100.0002.311 Nav4 patching error: batch file gives me "input/output error".

asked your microSD on PC, has Fat32 formatted, then microSD in your Tomtom has followed that process?

micro SD is Fat32 formatted. It's the one I would use in my TomTom. The device came without microSD card (used). This is a virgin TomTom Start 52, btw. And my first attempt at updating maps, hence this many questions (questionmarks in my head).

My question you have to create SDMAGIC not with SDMAGIC in Tomtom.
SDMAGIC must create in an adapter and connect to PC, once created to enter Tomtom and follow process.

I used a normal 32GB Sdcard in a card reader which I formatted as FAT32 on my laptop and there started batch file.

I know I first have to create SDmagic to backup my TT device. I am following written instructions I copied from here called "A guide to patching NAV4 devices (UPDATED)"

since I understand zero about writing programmes, could there be any errors in this file? why can I not save the patch on formatted sd card in card reader?

I understand that the patch file is fine, otherwise other users would have reported the problem...
there are other options, SD 32GB maybe too big, try a smaller one or another PC.

I tried my old laptop. And it actually worked there. !!
I faintly remember that old rar versions can make things complicated. Maybe that was it. I am using winrar 5.1 here and installed 5.7 on my old hp. Anyway, I am back to following further instructions.
