TomTom Go 50 loses its sound

I have a GO50 VH with the voice vanish problem still not solved.

I also restored to the pre patch state and I would like to understand well your procedure to give it a try.
More in detail:
1. How to connect winscp to the pna
2. How you have corrupted your TomTom? Removing directory and files with winscp?

After restoring to pre-patch state. There are other folders that I missed after the patch. So I copied them to the desktop and the licenses just in case. I then patched the navigation and copied the missing folders and files to the navigation.

1. When I have a patched device, I take a screenshot of the main folder in WinSCP.
2. I restore the device from before the patch.
3. I run WinSCP and check what was missing (I don't remember if I used Nav4Free (step 3) Enable ADB and root).
4. I copied the missing device reset peaks and it worked

Looking forward to better clarify, I have some new questions for your:
How do you restore the pre patch situation? Uninstalling the patch and restoring a backup done prior to apply the adb root and install the patch?

In my case the voice vanishing problem remains After the restore, Is It the same for you?

surely it is mentioned somewhere and I apologize to asking here some details on how do you access the pna with filezilla.

Which is the IP address and TCP port?
Is the pna running normally or in recovery mode ? If in recovery, by 3 taps on power button after black screen with device informations in white letters, or using the magic sd card?

The matter is that I'm in the process to restore, at least, to normal full operation my GO50 VH that now is restored / unpatched downgraded to 20.100 with TTBS and than to 22.100 by MDC. Nothing cured the voice problem that does not remains after pna off/on
Since Angus81 said that he was able to restore full working using winscp to extract and save some file and folders before the patch, I would like to know how to do.

Hi barth again, you have to patch it and connect with the winscp and have a look to folder with sound :-( so you will need another device and compare and compare and compare. No click job I am afraid mate. Best would be if you do that in the Linux. Back Up first

thanks to the thread about PDI, now I know that I can access the pna with linux once in recovery with the sdmagic.
I have already verified that the folder voices is not present but the VAutoTTS and in com.tomtom.audio.tts.vocalizer_preferences.xml there is
name="voices_path">datapath=/mnt/sdcard/ttndata/files/VAutoTTS<
that to me seems wrong because I do not have an SD card inserted for normal use

I also verified with linux that the backup done with the script MSTMS-Nav4-Navcore22.100, (because I started the adventure on the pna with last update by MDC), was defective and the biggest partition not readable.

At any rate, yes, you are right, I think I have to compare my pna content with a working one. To do this I need help because none close to me has a GO50 VH.
Is the someone there that can help ?

Hi Barth, ask Simba. Hi is magician here :-) Do not try to upload .img from different device, it will die for ever. You have to prepare your own one in linux. I have backup from anything but it will not help you I am afraid. Regards Jozko

I have the backup done during the procedure and used the MSTMS-Nav4-Navcore22.100 kit sice my pna was updated by MDC to Navcore 22.100.0002.311.
After several attempts I'm still not able to restore my pna to a full working situation with voice that do not vanish after off/on cicle.
