Think I just solved it. First I did recovery mode. The weird thing was that it opened with a loading on the screen before a black screen appeared. Without opening any program, I connected it directly to upload_ttpkg manually. With using this I uploaded navcore and it worked.

The problem now is that I uploaded a TTactivator map and there is appearing a error on the screen: Central_Europe_North-102605. And it is saying that the card is not working. But this was not the map I uploaded. A other map (Central Europe North) I did uploaded appears after I press the 'OK' button and it works. So what do I have to do so that the first error doesn't occurs? Because the device has just one map uploaded no others. And this one is working.
    Thank you again! Regards!

Well I'm glad your tomtom is working for you.
the one that sees 2 maps and really only has 1 and working, it is because that map that appears but is not there is because it has still remained in the registry.
I don't know how I delete the map that comes out but it doesn't work, I imagine with TTActivator, if it's not very annoying, keep it up.
If you want to start from 0 with the maps, connect MyDrive connect, it will repair the maps click and delete them if they are not original from tomtom,
If you still have the original map, give it to uninstall, you will run out of maps later with TTActivador install the ones you want.
I leave it to your choice and risk.
    regards

    Hello everyone .

    Device FN4*******(0)(19.1)
    App 12.075.3065980.74 (0) (2300, 13/7/2018),OS 2663383
    GPS 2,18.0 338276, Boot 534808, Backup 593403
    Map: "United-Kingdom-and-Republic-of-Ireland" v1055.10389, Release date 7/2020
    Language: English UK

First of all thank you to all those who have contributed to making this latest wave of GPS modification possible .
I have been a subscriber to this and various GPS forums for a number of years .There are some familiar names and some not so familiar .
Over that time I have had very little recourse to ask questions or interact with the forums because my issues were fixed by following the advice given to others with similar issues .

Unfortunately with the nav3 device I have I seem to be struggling somewhat , and I have not found anyone with a similar problem (Although admittedly I have not read everything and may have missed it ?)

The device I have is a TomTom Via Live (See attached image for model number etc)

Initially I struggled to get an activated map of any description onto the device .
Even following the "Dummies Guide" to the letter I was still getting errors.
TT Activator seemed to be working well and did not report any errors on the computer screen . Yet the device would continually report that " Something has gone wrong . An unknown error has occurred".
I eventually got a working map on the device by some miracle as I did nothing other than try , try , and try again with the same numbers .

The device will now boot up . I hear "The Bongos" and after a few seconds I get the "select map" screen.
Tap the only map I have (UK and Ireland stored on internal memory) and the screen switches to the map display with vehicle icon and a "greyed out" Live services bar vertically down the right side of the screen with the spinning searching/working wheel in the middle of the bar (I think this is trying to connect to the live traffic info for the route selected even though at this point no route has been selected).
After between 30 seconds and 2 minutes (depending on location) of the device "looking" for satellites the map switches to my actual location and all appears normal .

If I plan a route at this point all goes well until I start moving and complete the first couple of instructions .
Then the "greyed out" side bar for live services re-appears with the "spinning wheel" . This lasts for anything up to a minute at which point the device "locks up" and rests itself back to "The Bongo drums".
This loop of finding location , completing a couple of instructions . Then locking up and subsequently rebooting continues .
If I reset back to white text on a black background and the wait for "The Bongos" . Select map etc the device seems snappy and quick in operation .
But I have seen the device "lock up" a number of times in the menu screens . At which point I have to manually reset.

Could it be possible that the device does not have enough internal memory ( I have tried larger and smaller maps and also multiple maps on the device) ?
Would putting maps on a memory card using R-Link solve this issue ?
Am I using the correct map for the device in the first place ?

I do feel it is an error on my part . A step I have missed . Or a mistake I have made somewhere along the line.

Any help would be greatly appreciated .

    TIA folks

P.S. Sorry I can't seem to get images to upload correctly

I tried this already both on it's own and with another map (UK_and_Ireland I believe ?) . Same result unfortunately .
I will test it again though to be sure .
Thank you for the suggestion though .

I had the problem before or was it when putting a new map?
has updated satellites can update with TTActivador.
The navcore it has is, 12.075.3065980.74, I don't know what screen it has but I think it should be, 12.075.3065980.84
if the screen is 6 "it would be 12.075.3065980.94
If you can't get it to work, you should think about doing recovery mode and starting all over from scratch, maybe with so many attempts some software has failed.
    regards

Thank you for the suggestion and apologies for the long delay (Family/work/personal problems)
I did indeed change from .74 to .84 with some success . It was MDC that updated the device to .74.
The device had not been connected for some time and I do not recall what it was previously/didn't take note .
Anyway ,using .84 the device appears to function normally once a route is set and you DO NOT TOUCH the device .
I have had 4 "random" restarts now during the same testing session .
One when touching the screen to change route after following a completed route.
One for no obvious reason (Not touching the device and no obvious vibration or movement of the device).
And two whilst making adjustments mid route .
These "random" resets act just like a power interruption where the unit will power off and restart where it left off .
Mid route it will just reacquire satellites and carry on where it left off .
If no route was being followed it will just reset back to "initial boot up" status and carry on as normal.

If left to run and follow the route the device seems fine .
I have checked power connections and the lead and cannot repeat or force the device to reboot .
This does not mean it wasn't user error with the lead not being connected properly however .
But I did experience 2 of the reboots after checking the power was connected properly .
So I would how this eliminate most of the user error and indicate that the problem is more one of a software issue/incompatibility.
I do feel more testing is required however .
Also I do not expect a device that has firmware not intended for it and running "Adjusted" maps to work as a factory fresh TomTom unit would .
But I do think there is a certain level of compromise (that varies from one person to the next) that most people find is acceptable .
For occasional use I would be happy to use the device as is . But for day to day use I think it would be a lot more usable with a touch more finesse .

Thank you for the advice so far .
I'm almost there . Just a few more things to try and plod on with .

In either case the patch is for .74 .84 .94
One question, I ask is your battery okay, even if it has a minimum charge? Let me explain when you unplug the power cord, the device remains on for at least 1 minute? or when it loses power does it turn off?
    regards
