A dummies guide to patching NAV3 using TTActivator
Using the camper map with the normal patch makes the map work in Via, if you put the truck patch the device becomes slow, the map ends up crashing or even sometimes does not start, I suppose it is a ram problem in Start devices and Via.

The manufacturer of the Via devices installs sayville maps that is why I recommend it to you.

If the device indicates "no maps found" you have not done the installation with R-link correctly. I have installed the 1070 camper map in Via 135, I have used a partitioned 64Gb card.

Thanks for your help. I have it working now. The problem was my micro sdcard slot not reading discs. Think it needs a clean.

A little off topic. I have been looking for a second hand replacement for the via 135. Would the go 825 be a better choice and does it use the same saville maps ? Thanks

I don't know exactly what type of maps the 825 has, but I think that being a Go Live it will have the nav3 type.

When I want to know which map it is with certainty, I monitor the MDC connection to see the link, I do this with urlHelper.

In this example I show you the link that MDC has used for quickgpsfix:

Thanks. I think I will try a used go 825 and see if it's better than the via 135. I like the mount being part of the device on both tomtom's. Thanks again.

Hi I have successfully updated my Start 20 with UK maps and all ok. I tried to update the QuickGPSfix and got the message
"Unable to obtain the latest QuickGPSFix files from the Tomtom server".

Has anybody seen this before and is there a way round this. Is it safe to us My Drive Connect to update the GPRS.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    @Orni

Is it possible to use TTActivator with

TomTom GO 60 with application version 18.202.0024.311?

    I don't think so, because the Start 60 is a Nav4 device.
You can read all about it in

    and the Nav4 section.
    I don't know the details because I don't have a Nav4 device.
You probably use TTActivator only to download the correct map.

Only the map download can be done with TTActivator. In addition, the map type data must be manually configured:

    • nav4
    • nav4-no3d
    • nav4-noasr-no3d
    • nav4-noasr-no3d-slope
    • nav4-noasr-no3d-nofts

To free nav4 the guide pointed out by peterhimself
