Finally got the 1115_12001 (nav3) map with meta. thanks to pe1agp and PeterHimself, I'll do a revamp on my old nav2 device and see if it works correctly. I'll report what transpires in about 2 days time. Cheers.

Map 2 device to Map 3 Map device street names Greetings, Recently I have updated the old Tom Tom XXL540 IQ device to use Map 3 Australia 1120_12101 After successfully having it activated etc, I went for a drive today with the details entered for destination. I noticed the pronunciation of the street names were totally incorrect. Lucky for me I know the name of the road I was travelling on but the GPS was speaking a different name, weird. Never had that issue previously. Would anyone know what the problem would be and how to correct Rating: 5

Ok people, this is an update as to the transitioning of updating Nav2 map device to a Nav3 map installed onto a Nav2 device.
After doing a back up of the existing working map in the Nav2 device. I done a clean install with the 1115_12001 (nav3) map. All went ok transitioning, however when IO entered an address to navigate to. (The address I've known for many years), once again I had incorrect names of streets and roads been spoken by the device. There must be something in the Nav3 device that states the correct names of streets and roads and yet using a Nav3 map in Nav2 device states incorrect names of streets and roads.
It's very frustrating. My skills are limited in determing why this is so. Until someone more tech savvy than I can solve what the issue is, unfortunately I will need to reinstall the nav2 map. I know that works correctly with correct names of streets and roads.
Cheers, bondy

The only map that works in my Nav2 device is Australia TomTom v1110_11861, that was last map that had meta available.

There are more up to date maps which will work but you won't be able to use computer voices which read out the street names. I had the same problem with UK maps and tried various ways to get the street names correct but had to revert back to a non computer voice. Not sure if this will be an option for you.

The voice I had selected was Karen (English). I'm not sure if thats a computer voice or other type.

Another consideration would be that Tomtom released newer computer voices at the time after the v.1110? Perhaps try deleting the voice after a backup and re-installing it via Tomtom Home. Under c:/users/documents/tomtom or tomtomupgrade/Home/download/complete/voices or loquendovoices or similar you will find your voice and also the version number. Which one is that? Maybe it is possible to find and install an identical voice from the Nav3 versions
Karen Vautotts, Australian English from Nav3, compare with your Voice, maybe you can use itLast edited by Proukaet; 10th February 2024 at 06:02 PM.

If you use the old voices there is no problem to give a directional indication (For example, Eva / data15.chk - data15.vif).

The only issue is my subscription expired long time ago and have not used Tomtom Home in a very long time. I had to rely upon generous people on this forum that offered maps with meta.
In the Nav3 map I used , the same voice I used Karen (English) that I used on the Nav2 device into the Nav3 device map gave completely different names of the streets and roads.
I can reinstall Tomtom home but as my device is old, it may not work. Thanks for Karen Vautotts, Australian English from Nav3. I'll give that a go and see what happens with the 1115_12001 map.
I noticed 1115_11992 map in the compatabilty chart, map is available using TT Activator but no good without meta code.Last edited by bondy99; 11th February 2024 at 11:13 AM.

If you really do want/need the latest NAV2 map (new 1125's due out probably later this week) then would enable you still to buy new maps (and obviously share the meta(s) here)too
