    @ pe1agp,
thanks for your advice. Please excuse the tardy response, I think we may be in different time zones!

Sorry to say I don't understand your statement "put the correct meta.txt in the folder in which you patch the maps". I guess this is not the TTActivator folder, but I cannot see how to get TTActivator to look in a specified location for a file. If I update the meta.txt file in the TTActivator folder, it is overwritten by the one from the TTActivator server when TTActivator is opened.

I have also downloaded FastActivate from your post but it doesn't open in my windows 10 PC, just flashes up a DOS box and then closes. In any case it seems from the instructions you need to be able to see the device as a drive in windows explorer, and these NAV3 devices don't show up there.

    edit:
All sorted thanks for all your help. The clue was to understand that what the error message was telling me was that the map hadn't been activated. I installed a fresh copy of TTActivator onto an old laptop which I then quarantined by disconnecting it from the net, then used that to activate the maps on the 2 devices. No idea what the actual problem was, possibly something going on in my desktop PC.

It's not possible to patch Nav3 with Fastactivator, I'll answer you later today.

    Back again:
Indeed, if all goes well, you are half a globe away from here.

Normally I use the root of an empty HDD, I have enough of them here in my Radio Shack and I then put the maps on it, including the meta.txt file.
TTactivator usually discovers that path, but sometimes not immediately and then you have the search function to point you in the right direction.
By using RLinkexplorer I move the maps to and from an SDHC card.
For example, it works well for me with the Rider 550 to generate codes, but if you have a device without an SD slot you have to do everything directly on the device itself.
In that case, I think you should place the correct meta.txt in the folder where TTactivator is installed and that will then be used.

@lolax Where did you get this code from, please.

The last code was already in the meta.txt
    9A 08 CA 6D 3C D3 63 AF 7A 34 B5 5E C7 97 A1 50 Europe_Central-103934.meta ; Europe Central 1120_12089

Anyway I've added for sure to the meta.txt
