Computer doesn't recognise Blue&Me TomTOM 2

At last.. with the genuine TomTom cable MyDrive Connect sees the device and after multiple attempts including restarts of the device, the pc & the software the device is connected to MyDrive. Now its time to trawl the forum for an updating procedure...

Computer doesn't recognise Blue&Me TomTOM 2 Hi, I'm a longtime lurker in the iGO sections of this board who has just bought a car with an integrated Blue&Me TomTOM 2 device. Software and maps are from 2012 (as is the car). I didn't get a USB cable with the device so I bought one over the internet which was advertised as suitable for charging and updating. The unit charges OK with this cable but when I plug it into my desktop or laptop computer I get an error "USB Device not Recognised". The TomTom device end of the cable has a long Rating: 5
