POI editor
Hi. Can anyone recommend any free (!!) PC software or online tool where I can select points on a map and create my own POI file which can then be imported to my TomTom?

Looks good, but Google maps does not work anymore in the application.
So edit functions are still there, but you can not see the result on a map.

I stumbled across POI Editor before I saw your post. It’s good !!
I’m not sure if you can import an OV2 file from your TomTom device and then add some more POIs. At the moment, I’m resorting to importing the OV2 file that I created from scratch in POI Editor and saved to my PC. I also need to find a way to sort my own POI folder into alphabetical order. TomTom displays the entries in distance order.
