Rider v2 - Poor Satellite Reception
Hi folks,
I have a Rider v2 which I updated with the help of this site quite some time ago (App 9.500.1161701.2, OS 547200). It hasn't been used for a couple of years at least - It's been in one country & I've been in another. However I've just brought it back to the UK and tried using it today. Initially when I switched it on I received a GPS signal and could plan a route. After switching it off then on again it sits saying "Waiting for a valid GPS signal"
If I look at the GPS status it shows anything from 4 to 10 satellites but says "Poor satellite reception" and the bars showing each satellite signal are grey. I'm not in a built up area and have a clear view of the sky.
Any idea what's going on and, more importantly, how this can be fixed? I know it's old but I don't use it that much, and over £500 for a new one is way too expensive for me.
TIA

The gps after traveling by plane is normal that it takes time to locate the position, its memory remembers the last position.
Sometimes it may take up to 45` to get a signal.

Thanks for your replies.
I installed the quickgpsfix file via Tomtom Home and it now seems to be working.
Now I just have to try to find out how to update my maps!

There is a need to flash your GPS chip too
Map updates are easy done by TTactivator or getting a map from elsewhere and activate it with Fastactivate.
Which map or maps do you need?

Uh oh... sounds complicated and a recipe for disaster. Is it really necessary? Is there a simple to follow guide to do this?
I would like a more up to date version of Western Europe (which is the one I have now).

I don't need it at the moment - Western Europe will cover my current travel plans.
I've just read that and didn't understand it, but did see this:
"(Rider 2 ??? only problems),"
I don't now have any issues, so why is this necessary? Is it required to use later maps?
