How about reducing the number of POI's showing as too many can cause problems, and/or only having relevant speedcams loaded rather than all available even if they're not req'd (this refers to a Euro map when only driving in the UK etc)

Remember you:
Install the original navcore with TThome.
Install a new map without anything else, do not put pdi, radars, or mapsettings.
Don't put sounds folder in navcore.
Start the device with the basics, navcore and map, to rule out problems with corrupted files.
If that doesn't work, format your device and redo the path outlined above.

Update and thanks for your suggestions.
Formatted TT and loaded TTHome Nav 9.541
Added the most basic UK Map with no Poi or cameras and deleted mapsettings, Voices and postcodes.
Activated the maps but unfortunately it still stopped and restarted after about 1 min.
When I connected to my PC I thought I would see a new version of mapsettings in the maps but there is nothing. Am I right in thinking that mapsettings should reappear when the TT restarts.
I also noticed that when only the Nav was in the TT the warning message that there were no maps did not make the TT switch off and restart. This is probably because there were no maps in the TT to do anything but thought I would mention it in case it meant something about the problem.
Thanks again for all your suggestions it's really helpful if not successful.

I remember such a problem recently with a GO 910, on the HDD I had placed both Europe and the Benelux.
With the map of Europe active there was always a reset, with the Benelux active this was not the case.
Now I later found out that there were errors on the HDD and after some testing the GO 910 stopped working altogether.
It might be worth trying to test with an even smaller map?
A low-level format may also be an option?
I don't know what was written about the protection sector
P.S.
Lowlevel format here available

Pe1agp's suggestion is good, if the aforementioned has not worked, it is most likely that the device is damaged by bad usb disconnections. Low-level formatting rarely works, but sometimes it has. In Go 910 it is more likely because these devices have a hard disk.

I totally agree with you Orni, but as a last attempt to make something of it, it can't be much worse
