Well I can't really complain as I only paid £35 for it as it wasn't holding a charge and needed a new battery. My comments were intended to point out how little manufacturers think of their customers
convenience, or in some cases, lack of fast broadband or providers download limits. Having said that I see that Garmin also have maps around the same size so it isn't just TomTom.
I think I have been spoiled in the past by downloading just the U.K at under 300mb and the U.S.A under 2gb for nav2 units from this great forum.imlost Reviewed by imlost on . Rediculous map sizes? I just started updating a TomTom 6100 with the v10.50 Europe maps only only to find that the map comes in at over 9GB which is too big for the internal 8gig memory. At over twice the size of the Europe_1050_10176 map I feel that TomTom is having a laugh. I know that memory card prices are as cheap as chips nowadays and that I could choose regions, but the fact is that the 6100 had the full Europe v950 map installed when it came into my possession.
