It look likes the TomTom do not show the map.
    What happens if you :
-First make a full backup Windows to your pc.
-Let windows check and repair errors in the file system.

When this not help then delete the old map folder, and put a fresh one.

Alternatively you could try running clearflash.exe 3 times;-

I had it once or twice.
Just do a factory defaults from device menu.

I think it is much easier,
In the menu there is a possebility to turn off the map display and get these arrows as navigation.
Go to menu "Change preferences" and search there for "Safety preferences".
In that menu you find a page "Turn off map display" and you can choose "Always", "Above certain speed", or "Never".

I would allways choose "Never", because what is a TomTom without map.

    regards
    Peter

Oh so simple Peter! We're all trying to dig deep for a software glitch answer when it's already in the "Preferences", well found!

When u use the "factory defaults", you lose a lot off settings.
And I doubt i a person who don’t know the menu’s very well, will be very happy with that.
