Fixed the memory leak, but I doubt this will change much. It was only 2 KB per hour(!).
Anyway, this is more or less the final version for now. Should work on Rider 2013 and GL1 devices. Doesn't infringe on any copyright. Feel free to share.
@BMWdriver
as much as I'd like to develop an alternative solution for your use case and see if I could fix the ram issue (if it still exists!) I have to say that this would be taking too much of my time at the moment :/
(EDIT: ttconv-v9 removed as it caused some malformed NMEA sentences in certain situations)Last edited by treysis; 9th June 2019 at 03:11 AM.

We can really thank @treysis for his work on the Tomtom RIDER and all other GPS with GL1 chips (and there are many!)
Its solution is easy to install and works correctly on a lot of navcore. I tested on my Tomtom 3rd edition: 9.541_SE, 9.510_SE and 9.170_SE

thanks @treysis
i have installed it and date/time seems to work.
I have tried the minilogYes but it keeps rebooting. I had to soft reset the GPS then reinstall the files from the patch.
@treysis: can i ask you a question: i was wondering how to update faster the satellite positions. it seems that it reads the data in the ephem folder. but as it detects new satellites, I have always wondered why the GPS won't save the latest known working satellites position and not use it for next startup and restart the process to search for satellites from zero.
do you think it's possible to do that? that would make definitely the GPS faster at startup.
