SOME Advice if a new TomTom stops or does do unexpected things
If on the first journey of over 20 miles you get an advert appearing. Do not worry, and it may have been fixed now.
All you need to do is cancel the current route, then reset the route. If you do not it will reappear for all short routes until you cancel a route.
If you find suddenly that you cannot load a map or you are getting lack of traffic link, or speedcam download. Or it says connect via wifi/usb when you know it is correct. Well it isn't. Doing a soft reset with not sort it out. That is powering on by holding the power button on. That does not fix so do not bother wasting time like I did. All you need to do is go into Settings, System, Reset device. That fixed it. you need to put on your Account and password, resetting phone and wifi password. then the MyDrive reconnects and you get your My places back and saved routes. All is fine then. maps updated and traffic and speed cams updated. but you may need to add maps, though unlikelythe Maverick Reviewed by the Maverick on . At least by finding problems and sorting them, we are still alive.
