I find their information confusing as to whether my Model is excluded from updates or not; can anyone clarify please?
From the data label I have the following:
TomTom XL LIVECE0168 (4ELO.001.01) and a barcode of R14400GO3502.
Thanks in anticipation,
Ron.

It is definitely a "1" and not an "I" and I subscribed a couple of months ago with no problems. Does it mean that if I am to be dumped, I lose what I have paid for, i.e. a year of updates?

OK so R1 shows:- XL LIVE IQ Routes, 2GB, TomTom HOME
You won't lose any current subscription(s). Just connect/login to TTHome & see if that tells you it's been dumped (which I don't think it has because it does indeed have 2GB internal memory)

Now TomTom are squirming and changing/adding to their list of dead devices and making new excuses:-
A few more old device models have been added to the list. For the full list, please see
The memory size is indeed not the whole story but this has to do with generally out-dated technology and focusing on the current ones. With the increase in technology and range of products we have created, the company has made an executive decision to stop supporting products that will no longer run on our newest software. This has been a long and arduous undertaking that involved the weighing of many pros and cons. In the end, the decision was made to stop supporting some of our much older devices in order to allow our company to grow. We will respect the life of your device regarding any existing subscriptions.
In regards to purchasing maps and services, the benefit of many of our new products is that they come with lifetime map updates for Europe, and some for the world. Many also come with lifetime traffic and speed camera updates. In this way, you would not have to continually purchase those services year after year.
We do sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this has caused, but we do greatly value your business and have therefore created a special offer on several of our new devices, specifically for customers affected by this End of Life decision. Customer Service can provide more information about this offe.
Cheers, Mikko

Soooo, based on the above it really is just a matter of time before ALL the NAV2's are dropped which basically means NO MORE MAPS once our current subscriptions expire.
To that end, We would ask all/anyone with a 2GB or more (still supported) NAV2 device to seriously think about buying/adding new map subscriptions for their devices (remembering that you can add, eg, a further 18 months etc on to the end of any current subscription you already have) although I would suggest allowing the TT mapshop 48 hours or so to process one new purchase before trying to add another one "just in case"
I'm not sure if there's much in the pot from sponsors at present but if you're willing & able to help with the above please contact carlmai by pm at telling him what device you have & what map(s) you're willing to buy for us.
See here for more details about joint purchasing etc

If you install TomTom Home v2.9.91 over the top of your device killing version of TomTom Home and create a empty text file called v2_9_94_450_win.exe in the Updates folder in your TomTom profile you can get TomTom Home running like it used to
It will even allow you to buy maps for your "expired" device
when you run TomTom home you will get a window saying "A new version of TomTom Home is available... blah... blah... blah... just click continue.
You'll now get an error box about blah... blah... blah... is not a valid Win32 application, leave this window up and you'll now be able to click on the TomTom Home app and use it as normal.
It's a crappy work around but it works

Nice idea tweaking TTHome which we can already do, BUT, that will never allow you to buy maps for end-of-life devices for one simple reason, it asks you (needs you) to input the first 2 letters of your serial number before purchase and THAT will knock you back!
