Go530 adding maps to sd card
Hi can anybody tell me the correct way to add central Europe 1010.8891 maps to my go530 on the sd card, I am currently running uk and Ireland 1010.8891 via the internal memory with no problems. I have put the map folder on the sd card but when I select switch map on device the tomtom just hangs on the tomtom splash screen. I have also tried copying all the files and folders from the internal memory to the sd card as well but still no luck. My tomtom is running navcore v9.510 and boot loader 5.5120

Start with moving the whole contents of the internal memory to your SDHC card.
Some devices refuse to work from both, internal and SDHC at the same time
If you're still using only SD card 2GB, your Bootloader allow you to use SDHC Class 10 up till 32GB
As written already did you patch the map ?
Are you using the original Navecore 9.510 ?
In that case you need to patch the Navcore too

530 reads NC/maps from both internal and SD at the same time. If you put NC both on internal/SD - it'll start it from SD. But whenever NC will be placed/launched from - it will see maps in both locations. There only few reasons for TT to hang during switching maps:
1 - your map on SD is corrupt - maybe some files are corrupt or absent
2 - your SD may be faulty
If they were not - even if map won't be activated you'd got message "you can't use this map on device".

....and patched the navcore?
These newer devices only need a copy of the ttgo.bif along with the new map folder on the memory card to enable the "activation" and then it should show when you Manage Maps/Switch Maps
