Given how long it took me to learn how to succeed in this process, I'm trying to make it really simple for other beginners to find a suitable map. So even though the Thread Finder info might lag slightly behind the corresponding info in other pages, given that time is not usually the most critical issue for beginners (simplicity is), I think I'll stick with my method of just going to the Thread Finder to locate a 'green' map with meta data.

At biggerdave's suggestion, I'll shortly be PM'ing you a draft of my procedure, for checking. I'd welcome any constructive feedback you can offer, before revising (if necessary) and publishing here.

Is the navcore and map bound to the car it is used in or I can use DanielF's patched files in my car? The reason for that is I am on OSX and fast activate and all this stuff is not available.

Is it the same for not patched map and navcore?
I mean if I see another mazda like mine, get the SD card from it and put it in mine, would it work? (original sd card with no patched items on it)

How often this question? And the answer is everytime "YES", every TomTom-map (for patched and unpatched devices) is activated by device-code (and meta-code). You can't use another NB1-SD in your device without patching the present SD-NC and a new activation of the map(s).

Hi guys,

I updated my NB1 as mentioned above and applied 10855 and Europe_990_8351.

It runs all except for the Traffic Message thing which does not show up anymore sofar.

Anybody who had the same issue and knows how to fix this?

Same here. Updated to maps Europe 995.8530, but no TMC at all anymore. Any hints why this is happening ?
