Hi all , please go easy on me as I have no clue here on what should/shouldn't be asked.

Simple question: I have a UK 2013 Mazda CX-5 with a TomTom based nav system ( NB1?). I got the car via a fleet disposals auction and some scumbag has lifted the nav SD card , probably put it on fleabay.
I want to know do I have no option but to source a replacement for a Mazda dealer?, or is it possible to get a specific size/class SD card and somebody could direct me to an image/ zip that I could put on the card.

If its possible to hack/crack my onboard nav, then please guide me. Last time I had TomTom on a device was 7+ years ago on Windows Mobile. Only good thing I remember was the ability to drop comedy voices into the file structure and has Joe Pesci or Ozzie Osbourne direct me.

So which navcore your device uses? No SD-card needed to get this.

PS If really needed - use any empty SD-card to initialize it in device.

I just updated maps for first time on NB1 on reading posts here

1) Created ttgo.bif in root from tomtom software
2) Got Latest-FastActivate.rar
3) Downloaded Australia v966.7373 and overwrote it on current Australia folder in Root of SD
4) FastActivate created new dct file for map and new safety cameras

When I put it in the car back.. it says "You cannot use this map on this device: Australia-100736

What am I missing here?

Detailed information about your device and what you are doing:

The NC of your device is already patched?
The device-ID in the ttgo.bif is from your patched device? (entry DeviceUniqueID=XXXXX YYYYY)
You deleted the old Australia-100xxx.meta and the Australia-100xxx.meta.dct (from your old map) before activating your new "Frankenstein"-map?

Not sure what u mean

* NC? not sure what that is.. but i have used the ttsystem from simba

Fine, you use the ttsystem from simba, but by this way you don't get a patched system and a new map. Ok, then you should better read (and do) this:

I think you can do it. You need an 8GB SD card (or microSD in an SD adaptor) - 4GB may work. I'd go for Class 4 or better (I use C10 but don't throw money at it).
Initialise it in your car.
Then you may need a complete image from someone for your region (PM me if you're in Europe)
Copy the complete image onto your your SD but do not overwrite anything which already exists.
Then go through the complete cracking routine creating your own ttgo.bif file.
Put it in your car and see what happens.

Lol.. ok.. I had used exactly the steps above to begin with.. will try again tonight to see if I missed something.. Had also tried various methods (by reading all 30 pages - can't find links but I had copied them to my notes)

Is the main step there to download "Android Maps"? I had downloaded Australia 7373 and 7376 from this link

Hi khandu. I think the use of "Android Maps" can be easily misunderstood. Even though the NB1 essentially is running an Android OS. It helps once you understand the difference between the various map versions... 970 maps for Australia are delayed till latter this month, so lets check 965/966 compatibility chart:

We are looking for a map version that supports all 4
1) IQroutes and ALG (Auto Lane Guidance)
2) C Speech & ASR (Auto Speech Recognition)
3) TTS/Vocalizer (Text to Speech)
4) HNR (House Numbering)

And supports navcore (NC) 10.xxx
So now goto the thread finder for 965/966

You'll see there are only two option that have meta for Australia:

966.7373 and 966.7376

Now if you go back to the compatibility chart, you'll find that only 966.7373 has all 4 required features listed above with GREEN ticks. So that's our map!

You can use this logic to work out what map to use when 970 and other future maps are released.

To confuse matters a little - this map, while it works perfectly, is not officially designed for the NB1. The official latest map for NB1 in Australia is 966.7369 BUT no META is available for this map and so it can not be activated!

There are a few 'additional' files in 966.7369 that are not included in 966.7373. What I did:

1) Clear /Australia folder on SDCARD
2) Copy entire 966.7373 to /Australia folder on SDCARD
3) Copy asrgrammerinfo.xml from 966.7369 to /Australia folder on SDCARD
4) Copy /EN folder from 966.7369 to /Australia folder on SDCARD
5) Copy cphonmlh.dat from 966.7369 to /Australia folder on SDCARD
6) Copy tdspdlim.ttd from 966.7369 to /Australia folder on SDCARD
7) Download latest speedcams from

8) Extract .RAR file
9) Copy "Safety_Cam_AU_Premium.ov2" and "Safety_Cam_AU_PremiumOv2.ver" to /Australia folder on SDCARD
10) Run fastactivate to activate Map and Speedcams
11) Check to ensure the following files have been created in /Australia folder on SDCARD
a) Australia-100736.meta.dct
b) Safety_Cam_AU_Premium.ov2.dct

You mentioned you have installed my version of SIMBAS patched navcore with AUSTRALIA TMC enabled. If traffic is working, you know you have a patched navcore installed. If maps still don't work, you have done something wrong earlier in the process. My guess is you left multiple .meta files in your /Australia folder and so "Australia-100736.meta.dct" was never created by fastactivate...
