You can just copy the folder over if you want but I'm not sure it actually does anything. That folder just contains a file "release.nfo" with some ID info about the current map version on the card. I don't believe the NB1 actually does anything with it.
Greatnloopy Reviewed by Greatnloopy on . Mazda NB1 (JUST discussions here). See Tutorials for HowTo I have been trying to get downloaded maps working on my Mazda Navigation NB1, using latest FastActivate (and also tried Albert's EasyActivator), but the ttsystem and map combination gives an error 'You can't use this 'Australia-922' map on this device'. This is the process I followed:- To use the tools, I had to create my own TTGO.BIF and save it in the root of the card, using what was displayed in the Device Information from TomTom Home. Once i did this I was able to extract Meta codes for Rating: 5

So the Android maps failed me miserably with the NB1 stating I could not use that map with that device. I guess now all I can do it try and wait to see what happens with 950.6553 and a meta code. I don't see the point in trying the 950.6492 now as it's 1.6GB and seems to contain cspeech files instead of adpoints files. Sigh.

Il follow the Greatnloopy tuto and all work fin. I'm now with the simba navcore 10.854 and the Europe 950.6492 map.
Just time to time, the Bernard Voice indicate places with strange and unknown name during the travel. But the route is correct.

Thats My Way to Update a Map on Mazda NB 1

@ First : Special THX to @ Simba and @ Greatnloopy

    1. I make a BackUp of the SD-Card
    2. I put the SD in Cardreader, open Tomtom Home, go in the left upper corner to "Help"--> "Systeminformation" and open it---> Notice the Device-Id "AAAAA AAAAA"
3.Put a Fresh SD-Card ( Size 4 GB or More) in the Car, Ignition ON ! Navi ON.....A Text "Blablabla....no maps found" blablabla was shown
4.Ignition OFF , Remove the SD-Card and put in the SD-Card reader on PC....a Folder "Loopdir" with a File "Loopdir.ex3" inside must exists
5.I copy all Files from the BackUp EXCEPT Loopdir-Folder,Map-Folder and ttconfig to SD.......THEN:add the 2 Files from @ Simba Upload (ttsystem and ttconfig) 10.854(the new patched Navcore)
    6. I take a "Europe 950.6492" and copy it to SD ( Notice: All Maps with the same Charakter like @

So I have figured out why is route calculation taking too long - and I can't believe that I didn't think of this before, and some of you probably know this already When we update the device, all settings are set to factory defaults. The one option that messes things up is the "unpaved roads", simply set it to "NO" in planing settings and voila

    New poster alert.

Many thanks for the great guide. I have a couple of questions from following Greatnloopy's instructions.

1 - In my TomTom Home there is no option to click "Device" --> "Device Information". Instead I get something by doing Help > System Information > Copy to Clipboard. I assume this is the same as it seems to have the right bits to keep for ttgo.bif. Is that correct.

2 - Is there any need to delete all duplicated files/folders in the SD card? Shouldn't just copying everything from the downloaded maps replace any pre-existing files anyway? I think all deleting the files does is remove the prompt to overwrite existing files. Is this correct?

    1 yes
2 In general overwriting and deleting-then-copying files is the same thing.

    Hi stonecoldcrazy,

    1 - Thanks
2 - I was just thinking that the instructions would just be safer to copy all the new map files straight over the old ones rather than pick out the ones to be deleted which is more error prone.
