for 9.--- maps better use 9.--- navcore , preferably latest
remove everything from both internal and card , and do a CLEAN INSTALL
and , dont forget to clear the flash and reset after that !!!!!!
sometimes it is necessary to put both navcore and map on same drive , but not alwaysbasflt Reviewed by basflt on . TomTom ONE V1 Please Help, I'm Stuck! OK, I've had this TT ONE V1 practically since they first came out, however our last 2 cars have had satnav built in so it's been stuck in a drawer for quite a while. My daughter has now started driving so I dug out the TT1 in the hopes of resurrecting it with new map and speed camera info. I've followed the steps in this thread :- http://www.metanmedia.net/tomtom-tutorials-and-faq/220774-tomtom.html However at step 11 it says use a compatability chart which I cant find. Can Rating: 5

I dont have a ttgo.bif file, could that be the problem?
EDIT
Cancel that, yes I do, should have gone to specsavers! Think I'm going to try the whole reinstall from scratch and see how it goes

Stupid question maybe but could it be something to do with the map folder name? For instance, my backed up map folder is called :-
United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ireland
With underscores, and the new one is called :-
United Kingdom & Republic of Ireland v925.5439
with no underscores and the map version

yes , could be
most softwares are sensitives for that
answer ; try it out and rename again ( or use the map folder as you downloaded it )
but my experience is that a clean install works best
edit
outside MC there is a lot of rubbish on the net
make sure you get a good map from good source
it can also happen that the map get corrupt during download
if in doubt , download again from different source ( or even better wait for 9.30 map )

SUCCESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I moved FASTACTIVATE into the map folder as opposed to the mem card root and it worked! Seems to be OK and firing up fine and recognising map, now i just need the speed camera stuff.
