Hello all,
I can't get any map newer than 1030 to work reliably. I've tried this on three different devices. USA_Canada_and_Mexico_1030_9520 works, with no constant rebooting, with RDS traffic antenna on all three units. I tested with all three units in the car at the same time, with the same route programmed in, and deliberately not following the route. The only difference in functionality between the three units on the 1030 map was the speed at which they recalculate the routes.
Any newer map I've tried kicks me into a reboot loop -- sometimes immediately after the TomTom logo, sometimes a few minutes after I touch the "agree" button. The latest map I've tried is USA_Canada_and_Mexico_1050_10178. I went though the same thing with 1035 and 1040 maps. I did not try 1045 or 1047 maps.
Am I misreading the compatible chart? The way I read the compatible chart, they are both Nav2 maps. Are the new maps too big somehow? USA_Canada_Mexico_1030_9520 is almost the same size as the 1050_10178 map.
The units I have are:
DeviceName=TomTom ONE XL
BootLoaderVersion=55136
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=9056
ApplicationVersion=542741.2
DeviceName=TomTom GO 730
BootLoaderVersion=55279
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=9702
ApplicationVersion=1512362.1
DeviceName=TomTom GO 920
BootLoaderVersion=55120
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=9541
ApplicationVersion=3145439.1
For the One-XL, I'm using a DSA navcore with page file and hard-wired sound. For the other two units, I'm using the navcore that was last updated directly via TomTom Home, then patched with TTActivator. I also used TTActivator to get the last GPS-fix.
I get the same results whether I patch and activate with FastActivate or with TTActivator. I made sure that I only had one map installed at a time.
Regards
ftz

The map is correct, you are only putting the map according to what you have downloaded or added something to it ... mapsetting, pois, radars ...?
Try to put the map clean.

Thank you Xius27 -- you are correct. Removing the Safety_Cam files did the trick on all three devices. Commute went flawlessly today.
this evening I loaded each of the six files (regular and premium, each of three countries) one by one, checking which would pass activation and which one would not. Kept only the two that passed activation on the device. Seems to still work well. The proof will be tomorrow's commute.
Now I can put the One-XL back in the spare parts box -- because of the WNRO problem, it never knows what time it is -- and I can keep the Go730 around in case I ever rent something larger than a car.

There is a WNRO fix for all affected TomTom devices:
For devices with GL1 -> use the Treysis-fix together with a suicide.dat (entry 5)
For devices with GL2 -> use the current file "glgps" in the folder "bin"
For devices with SirfStar III -> make a gps chip firmware update to 3.2.5 or 3.6.0
For Rider 2013 -> use the official Rider-NC 9.501 or the Treysis-fix (better)Last edited by Alfred_ML; 16th June 2020 at 01:20 PM.

I also encountered difficulties with FastActive on the 1050 maps, but with TTActivator everything went perfectly.

Couple of issues with updating maps/metas with TTActivator :
Rider 2nd Ed, Navcore 9.501
Bootloader 5.5128
Majority of 1050 maps updated & working fine (thanks to all contributors, coders and advisors)
Trying to find older maps and metas (metas for the following not available yet in 1050 versions) for the following:
French Antilles
French Guiana
Indian Ocean
India
Hong Kong
Egypt
Tunisia
Algeria
Israel
Central and mosts of Sth America (except Arg, Urg, Chile)
Have searched from ver 1051 backwards in TTActivator map update with no success in finding any of these for arm9.mnt.
Afraid Orni's map availability spreadsheet hasn't helped a great deal either
But in the past I have had working maps of Israel and Egypt - where have these elusive creatures for Nav1 gone?
Anybody able to point me in the right directions?
