My "fix" for the update notification didn't last long, as I started getting them again last month but now on all of my devices. My fear is that TomTom will eventually force everyone to the new subscription version of the app and the current version will be sunsetted. In the mean time, as another workaround to stop the annoying update prompts I've rolled all of my devices back to TTG 1.17.10 build 2136 (and no more prompts to update!).
