Full disclosure - I am not a fan of Google and I avoid using its products as much as I can. So Google Maps (and its ability to now temporarily store maps of an area) is not something I want as a backup on my tablet for navigation. But Google map does do a great job at navigating.

So of the offline maps enabled options - the top two I have zeroed down on are HereWeGo and TomTom Go. Tomtom Go is not 'free' per se, I think since it needs some patching etc. But HereWeGo is completely free. At the same time, I have used HereWeGo and I find the routing inferior to Google Maps. So would the experts (and everyone who is using TomTom Go Mobile) please weigh in:

Is TomTom Go Mobile a better alternative to Google Maps than HereWeGo? Why would a person choose this app over Google maps?
