You need card with predefineed CID number.

So I need to read original CID and put same on new card?

TomTom R-Link1 is not Carminat TomTom Live.
For R-Link1 (or evolution), you need CID-Changed SD.

Price is not problem, but I want to learn it.

It's almost impossible to write your own CID to an SD card unless you have specialized hardware. A few years ago there was one type of Samsung card where this was possible on a regular PC with Linux, but those cards are not for sale anymore.

Your best option is to buy an SD card with the correct CID from a Chinese vendor on Ali Express. A 16 GB card will cost you about 12-15 euro. The downside is that you need to do this every time a new map version is released for R-Link.

So this forum is to make a profit from members.
