Remote Control playing up?
I thought I'd share it here anyway.
I had an "RM-Series Replacement Remote Control" (easily found on Amazon/ebay etc) for my DVD player which started playing up and some buttons needing a heavy press or not working at all even with brand new batteries so I ordered a new one as this had done me well for 3 years almost daily use. I mentioned to the supplier (same people) about me being happy with 3 years service, BUT, rather than just sell me a new one, they came back to me with this suggestion:-
Hello,
Can you please do the following procedure:
1. Insert brand new batteries in the remote, not re-chargeable batteries.
2. Remove them straight away after inserting them.
3. Leave these batteries out for 10 - 15 minutes before putting these back into the remote.
This should re-set the remote for you and get it working
Best Regards
....and, guess what; IT WORKED! Don't ask me how because surely these things don't have an internal memory/back-up battery etc
Whether this works for other makes of Remote Controls I really don't know but just thought I'd pass this on to youbiggerdave Reviewed by biggerdave on . Remote Control playing up?
