Excuse me, but I am not sure how to make this update, could you send me a step by step guide how to do it? (unless it's just inserting the card while the device is off....).kilikop Reviewed by kilikop on . Trouble with connecting to the GPS [nuvi 2547LMT] device on Mac/Windows I have always updated my maps through the connection to my Mac device, but since I have lately updated my device (nuvi 2547LMT HWID:1582, version with lifetime Europe map updates) to the 5.50 version my device isn't seen by any of my Pcs or Macs. I have tried Mac Catalina, older versions of Mac, Win 10, 8, 7 and even XP and other modded versions of Windows (JG). Every time, the Garmin app failed to recognize that my GPS device is connected to the PC/Mac so I can not update my maps, the system Rating: 5Last edited by kilikop; 5th July 2020 at 05:06 PM.

Thanks for sending me the instructions, but I am not sure how am I supposed to "get the GarminDevice.xml file" on a SD card without any USB input or using my PC. Is it possible to copy and modify files on my GPS device without using an USB connection?

FireFox58 gave you the SD card kit so you can re-install the firmware via SD card.
Remove the SD card from the device and connect to a SD card reader connected to your PC,(use one of your other devices)unpack Nuvi 2xx7 2xx8 (1582) fw5.50.rar so you end up with only the Garmin folder with all its contents on the FAT32 formatted SD card
.Then follow Firefox58's instructions
