Garmin_Nuvi thanks for quick reply but post#23 has no link. I've down loaded the (City Navigator North America NT 2022.25 FID 9362) extracted the files contents and tried to open with Map Source. None of the file can be open with Map Source. What am I missing? Thanks.

Garmin_Nuvi I did what you instructed extracted content are the same as post #3 above by Delioglan. Result is not as what your post shows in MapSource mine didn't have the Map Product Manager nor Map Product Information as yours. I'm using Win10 can this affect it?

Try this

the folder name should be "GARMIN" not "Garmin"
like:
C:\ProgramData\GARMIN\Maps\City_Navigator_North_America_NT_2022_25.gmap

delete the content of this folder
C:\Users\*username*\AppData\Roaming\GARMIN\MapSource\TileCache

if it does not work then you need to uninstall Mapsource then reboot PC and manually do trace for "Mapsource" in windows registery and remove it. Reboot PC and reinstall Mapsource.

if it does not work redownload the same file again and try it out.

if it does not work try any other gmap folder for testing.

hopefully by now you should have an idea or hints of what to do next.

Newbie here....not sure I misunderstand what you are saying...are there "Instructions" to download? I downloaded the file, and didn't see instructions.

I put the files C:\ProgramData\Garmin\Maps. I don't readily see how to get it to be recognised in Mapsource.

I would have thought I click File/Open in Mapsource, but I don't see a file which is recognized.

If it is too complicated, no problem...I'll stop here.

Have you tried:
Menu:View > Show Toolbar > View
or Menu:View > Switch to Product
When you see only the Basemap: Ctrl+G
