Regarding your JCV file D3090260A.JCV, is this equivalent to the full size D2504290A.JCV file, but reduced to cover just Western Europe? I have the full size D2504290A.JCV file and I was wondering if I should use this instead, if I want maximum data. If your D3090260A.JCV file gives the same on-screen result, that's fine. just need a confirmation .

Yes, JCV file D3090260A.JCV is equivalent to the full size D2504290A.JCV file but reduced to cover just Western Europe.
if you have only Western Europe it is useless to have JCV coverage of all of Europe

Hi Firfox any chance of uk and irl ive tried the one from Garmin-Nuvi but its not recognized been udating for years with yours no problems thanks

The Map provided by Garmin_Nuvi is Okay, no need to post another.
Maybe your problem is the name of the Map, gmapprom.img. This name is valid ONLY for internal folder \.System,
If you use it on external SD best renaming it in gmapsupp.img

Thanks, so i downloaded and have 3 maps, western europe parts 1 2 3 , ive unzipped part 1 and its a JCV file with a code name, do i just rename to a gmapsupp.img file name and put it on an sd card to use in a nuvi 670, i just need an ireland map ,so do you know is it part 1 2 or 3?

From where have you download this maps, you have to be sure that the maps are unlocked.
If youhave to use in your SD-card, then create a folder named: Garmin..... then copy and past your map into this garmin folder.
