Not able to download any files thru zippyshare, I was trying to download City Navigator US and Canada 2021.20, gmap3d, and JCV for nuvi 765

I downloaded all these files but not give me any .img files ,

instead when i opened it some files that even not open, not functional , i cant anything with that. i supposed is base map and i can do something with it but nothing , i even dont know what kind of device is good for. just waste time and internet capacity.
if these files is special for some device thats good mention it. learn people how fishing .

You don't know what you don't know, so just ask.
Maybe let us know the most basic details of what you are trying to achieve and on what device.Randomly downloading will achieve nothing.
You have been here less than a day,nobody expects you to have the combined understanding of members that have spent years here.
What you downloaded is "Unlocked Mapsource/Gmap folder" the files in a gmap folder,this is for installation on a PC.Last edited by Garmin_Nuvi; 1st September 2020 at 03:43 AM.

You should learn reading before fishing ...
Exactly above the Links you downloaded is written "Unlocked Mapsource/Gmap folder"
This means that what you downloaded are MapSource version of Maps (to be installed on PC) and NOT IMG version (to be installed on Device)

Can these files be used on a Montana 680t,and is there a thread you can refer me to that lays out, in pretty good detail? With all the files that are available for download, which ones I would need to build an SD card to with my Montana? I would assume a step-by-step thread would be really helpful to rookies like myself.

If you check on what maps you can add, these City Navigator maps are included.
Montana 610/680 | 2299 | 330 | MAP: Yes | GMA: Yes | MSV: Weak | GVS: --- | File: Montana610_680_350.gcd
This MSV Weak means you device does not require patching to use Unlocked maps.
The whole forum is a "How to"
Download the 5 parts of N.America 3.15 GB extract to a new folder on your desk top.
You will end up with gmapprom.img 3.15 GB change its name to gmapsupp.img.
Format your SD card FAT32 and create a folder called Garmin copy gmapsupp.img into there.
File name & location is recorded in your garmindevice.xml

I get that. I just recognize that there is some shorthand in many of threads, and it is a bit much to unravel. Thank you for the concise steps to get it working for me. It does beg the question, what are all the other files about then? If the ROM files are the only group needed, what do the ASR, and SID files help with? When I try to use my Montana to 'Go to' a waypoint in town, it just draws a straight line from where I am. So I assume these files help with the smarts of actually routing streets, highways, etc. From your answer; you are telling me that is not correct.

City Navigator Full North America NT 2021.20 Unlocked
Alaska, Canada, USA, Mexico
Full North America: gmapsupp.img
3D Buildings: gmap3d.img
JVC: D2504290A
It's very easy, I have make it ready for you.
Just Copy and Paste this "Garmin" folder into your SD-Card.
All files are Unlocked.
All are in the Folder: Garmin/gmapsupp.img, Jvc, gmap3d.img
((If you want to use the Map in your internal memory, then rename the map file from "gmapsupp.img" to "gmapprom.img"))
Then you are ready to go with updated maps.
The uploaded files are made as self-extracting files, so no package program is required.
Just begind with file "Number 1" in both Mega files, Anonym files and 1fichier files.

Thank you ScorpioPirate I was able to use your files to update my Jeep Wrangler 430N device successfully with your files, when I could not get or find any help anywhere else on the Web...took a lot of patience; however, yours worked for me you saved me $150 + tax when I am out of work.....but if I get a new job, I can now find a path to it
