Unpack & simply copy ​City Navigator North America NT 2021.10.gmap folder into C:\ProgramData\Garmin\Maps

Just to make sure, all I've got to do is take the gmapprom(8420).rar file and rename it to gmapsupp.img and it'll work fine since it's already unlocked. I know it's a large file but I've the sd card already so that shouldn't be a problem. My Garmin thanks you though because it's a little out of date!

Unpack downloaded gmapprom(8420).rar with the latest WinRar ,change name of gmapprom.img to gmapsupp.img & place on a FAT32 formatted SD card in a folder named Map.

About Parkopedia, it looks like there is an unlock file directive .unl but no actual corresponding ASR file like :

06FLCY6C.ASR <--- Missing
06FLCY6C.unl <--- Present

... ?

I'm hoping someone smart can help, I have a Garmin Nuvi 3790 (not the lifetime maps version) with old 2012 North American maps that I'm tying to update. I've read a bunch of guides in this forum and spent the last few hours trying to figure everything out. What files do I need to download and replace on my Nuvi 3790 to get it all updated? I got the new City Navigator 2021 gmapprom.img downloaded and all the other files that were posted in the 1st page of this thread but what about the ASR/JCV files? On the 1st page of this thread do I download the ASR or ASR2 rar file and why? Which junction view file, the 13xx 14xx 765 480x270 large.rar I'm guessing?


Thanks to anyone for help on what files I need exactly? I already backed up my garmin and replaced most of the other files in the hidden system folder on the garmin. Just not sure on the other files.

EDIT - I've tried both ASR winrar archives (ASR and ASR2) and when I try voice commands on the unit it won't work says "American English not supported" so right now seems like neither is working, hmmm, anyone have any ideas?

Check you have en_US.srd or es_US.srd in the ASR folder depending on English or Spanish.
If you don't have lots of addresses you want to save a reset is always a good way to finish.
Garmin Nuvi 3790 Factory Reset

1. Start with the device turned off and unplugged from power.
2. Power on the device.
3. When the first copyright screen appears press and hold the lower right hand corner of the display portion of the touchscreen.
4. Remove your finger from the touchscreen when "Erase all user data?" appears.
5. Touch Yes.
6. Choose USA.
